This is an incomplete thought, but I wanted to share with you all what was percolating for me in the reflection time we had around the “The Meeting Place” exercise. Know that I fully acknowledge this is likely heretical, but I think there is something valuable and powerful in it, nonetheless. 🙂
In our discussion, several folks in the group mentioned the image of a “dance” between justice, mercy, and truth. This is the word that came to mind for me, as well. And immediately it drew me to the understanding of the Holy Trinity that I have found to be the most accessible and meaningful – the idea of the “Divine Dance” – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit intertwined in an eternal dance of love … one is unable to distinguish where one person ends and the other begins … God as community, as communion … inviting each of us into the dance.
And so, I envision this same divine dance with Justice, Mercy, and Truth as the dance partners. Peace is born out of this dance, and at the same time, peace is the force that binds them together.

I love this. I had a very similar thought about the dance between the three of them. I’m guessing you know of Richard Rohr’s work on the Trinity? “The Divine Dance”. That came to mine while we were talking about Justice, Truth, Mercy and Peace.
A very creative insight. Thanks for sharing it with us!
