I recently read this in a meditation by one of my favorite teachers….”My body is a place of divine communication, where the dragon of universal suffering and confusion converses with a peaceful ocean of infinite compassion. The pain in me and the God in me seem to have an agreement; there’s nothing to fix or change.” (Sarah Blondin).
This strikes a deep cord in me. And also speaks to the complexity, and yet hope, of our mutual upcoming experience together. The fiery breath of the dragon seems so close on many days when the chaos in the world threatens to overcome. Yet when I sit in my quiet meditation, I am deeply connected with a quiet and abiding joy, and an overwhelming and constant awareness of Spirit presence, and direction. Also, the term “nothing to fix” really grabs me, as I recently said to a friend of mine “I cannot believe this upcoming experience, and the amazing quality of people that I am going to be traveling with”…. And her response was “Well! You are amazing too!” May it be so, that all of us will be connecting more with our amazingness!!!

Joanne. Such a beautiful reflection…and invitation to befriend the tension that you write of in our contemplative moments. Yes to collective awesomeness…and living more fully into it!
Thank you for offering this image of the dragon of suffering conversing with the ocean of endless compassion. I resonate with the feeling that the fiery breath of the dragon seems way too close on most days. So grateful for the Presence of the Spirit to ground us and give us hope. Thank you for your post.
